How to convince Parents to get you Texting?
I really want to have texting, but my parents decided not to get it on the current plan we have, but the time is coming soon to pick up a new plan, how should i convince them to get me texting?

I am a mom with two teens. While texting does make it quick and easy to touch base with them where in the mall they are, a time change for a school event, etc. in a way that doesnt necessarily require a full conversation. brbrThat said, they have difficulty controlling the habit of texting and so both are required to pay for any charges over the plan allowed amount. So we pay a month, anything over that comes out of babysitting money, work money, birthday money, etc. No excuses. Show your parents you can manage this. The cell phone plan should have a way for you to check your limit and see whether or not youre over. Be responsible.brbrNext, write out an agreement for you and your parents to sign, saying you will pay the overages, and that you will not use your phone during class times, and that you will continue to maintain good grades. The consequences will be to lose phone privileges, or whatever, if you dont keep your end of the agreement.brbrShow you can be responsible in one area by being proactive and responsible in another area.
